The Course | Packages | Race Information | Travel InsuranceTHE COURSETravelling Fit is proud to announce that they are an Official Travel Agent Sponsor of the Runners head north along Batman Avenue; left into Flinders Street, left into Swanston Street, cross to northbound (west side) service lane at Princes Bridge and then head along St Kilda Road to St Kilda Junction, turn right into Fitzroy Street. Turn right into Lakeside Drive along side Albert Park Lake, then left into Albert Road Drive and left into Aughtie Drive continuing around the Albert Park Lake roadway. At the Carousel carpark proceed behind and around Pitts Building using Aughtie Walk before U-turning in Aughtie Drive 400m past the Pitts Building. Proceed to a right hand turn into Village Green Rd and right onto Lakeside Drive and right onto Fitzroy St. Right hand turn at Acland St extension into Beaconsfield Parade, proceed north to a U-turn just before Bay St heading south back toward St Kilda along Beaconsfield Parade. At the Beaconsfield Parade intersection with Jacka Boulevard, runners will veer right and head out towards Elwood using Jacka Boulevard, Marine Parade and Ormond Esplanade. Turn right into the Elwood Park Recreation area, follow the roadways through to right hand turn exit at Ormond Esplanade to a U-Turn in Ormond esplanade at Kingsley St. Proceed along Ormond Esplanade, Marine Parade, Jacka Blvd to right hand turn into extension of Acland St, followed by a left hand turn into Fitzroy St. Then turn left into the St Kilda Road northbound service lanes and continue to left hand turn into Southbank Blvd, right hand turn into Sturt St and proceed (under the St Kilda Rd) along Alexandra Ave to a right hand turn into Linlithgow Ave. Proceed along Linlithgow Ave to Birdwood Ave to right hand turn into Domain Rd. Followed by a right hand turn into St Kilda Rd. Proceed along St Kilda Rd to a right hand turn into Flinders St. Runners then veer right into Wellington Parade South, turn right into Jolimont Rd and continue along Brunton Avenue on the right hand side in designated marathon lane, before entering the MCG off Brunton Avenue at the Gate C "Tunnel". Runners will then run an anti-clockwise lap of the MCG in the outermost lane before finishing in front of the MCC Members Stand. To assist with considerable volumes of city traffic at lunchtime we have introduced an 11.00am OFF ROAD policy at St Kilda Junction - runners MUST use the footpath after this time NO EXCEPTIONS. A cut off will also be imposed at the left hand turn into Southbank Blvd at 11.00 am (Runners who don't make this cut off will have their race number recorded and be given a lanyard with an OFF ROAD Course Map to follow) runners MUST proceed along the footpath to the St Kilda Rd Crossing through Alexandra Gardens and off road through the Botanic Gardens, Domain Road and St Kilda Road. Flinders St and Batman Avenue will re-open at 12.00pm. Any runner that does not reach Fed Square by 11.45am will be directed to run on the footpath to the MCG stadium via Gate C.

CUT-OFF TIMES- St Kilda Rd Junction Rd- 11.00am - The northbound service lanes on St Kilda Rd will remain open to competitors until 11.00am. Finish Gate C entry into MCG RACE TIMINGYour Timing Chip can be found on the back of your race bib (excluding 4km competitors) that will be sent in your Race Pack with your Competitor Information Booklet from August. The Timing Chip will appear on the top half of the bib and will look like a label and must remain intact. Do not remove or tamper with the Chip as this will result in NO TIMES being recorded of your effort. RACE PACKETSRace Packs include: Race Bib, Safety Pins, Timing Chip & Information Booklet. Marathon Time Groups are as follows: AID STATIONSAid stations will be located at the start and approximately 6km, 10km, 13km, 15km, 17.5km, 20km, 22.5km, 25km, 27.5km, 30km, 32.5km, 35km, 37.5, 40km and at the finish PERSONAL REFRESHMENTS AND CLOTHINGSt. George Melbourne Marathon Marathon competitors who wish to have their own refreshments available to collect from designated Drink Stations on course during Race Day, please see instructions below for dropping off your drink bottles on SATURDAY 10 OCTOBER: Drop off location ST.GEORGE MELBOURNE MARATHON INFORMATION OFFICE
These drink station tables will be overseen by Athletics Victoria volunteers and are specifically allocated for special drink requirements. However, they are still part of existing Drink Stations and have the same facilities. Athletics Victoria volunteers will be available to assist athletes in finding their personal refreshments quickly; however the responsibility lies with the athlete to find their own drink Please note - plastic bottles only - NO GLASS WILL BE ACCEPTED and items will not be accepted outside the times 9.00am and 2.00pm. Items that are not collected during the event will be discard. TRANSPORT
EXPOThe Active Feet Runners Expo will be set up on the External Concourse outside of Gates 1 and 2 at the MCG. The 2010 St.George Melbourne Marathon will once again be providing Pace Group Leaders for the Marathon.
As the MCG is located within easy walking distance to the city centre no transport is included
