The Gold Coast event courses travel along the coastal line and provide very flat, picturesque routes, and will be marked at every kilometre.
The Marathon is an out and back course. It goes south to Miami, turns and goes north to Runaway Bay, turns again and goes south to the finish. On the way south the course follows coastal roads via Main Beach, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach and Nobby Beach before turning just north of Hythe St, Miami. After returning to the start line (26km mark), the course goes north along Frank St, then follows the Broadwater along Marine Pde and Bayview St before turning at the Runaway Bay Marina. The course follows the same roads back to the finish with the exception of using Marine Pde, Labrador rather than Frank St.

During the winter month of July, race time temperature is typically around 10°C (50°F) at 6:30am, rising to 18°C (64°F) at 10:30am. Winds are usually quite low, as is the humidity. These environmental factors and a flat course lead to great running conditions.
