After a Start from the center of Chamonix (1035m), you steadily climb the upper valley of the Arve, progressively passing through the hamlets of "les Bois" and Lavancher to reach Argentière (1250m). You next cross the Col des Montets (1461m) into the heart of the Aiguilles Rouges game park.. Then, along the le Chemin des Diligences, the old stage-coach route, you arrive at the hamlet of Buet before reaching Vallorcine (1260m), which nestles at the bottom of a friendly valley only a stone’s throw from Switzerland. Now you are heading towards the Col des Posettes (1997m) where you will be rewarded for your efforts by a splendid view of the massif of Mont Blanc. Opposite the Aiguille and the Tour glacier, the route now goes gradually back down across the mountain passes to reach Charamillon (1850m), then the gradient increases until the village of Tour (1453m). It now becomes calmer along the road leading to Montroc (1382m), before crossing the hamlets of Frasserands and Tré-le-champ. You return to the historic route of the Mont-Blanc cross-country race. At the heart of the Aiguilles Rouges massif, opposite the Mount-Blanc range, the route climbs up until la Flégère (1875m). After a crossing of the magnificent comb of Charlanon (1812m), you climb, at first gently and then more steeply, until just before the arrival at Planpraz (2050m) which presents one of the most beautiful views of Mont Blanc. The route is made up of 16% of tarmac road, 52% of forest tracks and 32% of paths and is composed of an altitude difference of 2240 meters up and 1190 meters down.
