Australian Outback Marathon - Australia
I hope you have recovered after all the excitement of the Outback Marathon. I just wanted to thank you and Travelling Fit for your generosity, professionalism and support. I am looking forward to my next adventure with Travelling Fit.Dave King (Dave & Bear), NSWCan I take the opportunity to thank you all at travelling fit for a wonderful experience last week in the outback event. We had a great time and really appreciated all your care. A few good memories that will be high on the recall list for ever. Well done.Ali Woodward, VICMy sister, Lindsay Holland, and I would like to thank you both for the amazing event that you organised in the Outback. We were also both so pleased that we changed back to the full marathon and, although we were Walkers, we did not come last! The organisation was superb. The events that you arranged, especially the Celebration Dinner, were fantastic. The atmosphere of the Marathon, with such friendly volunteers manning the aid stations, was very enjoyable. It was not just a Marathon - it was a 4 day Experience! I would definitely recommend this Marathon to anyone looking for a marathon 'with a difference'.Sue Parsley, South AfricaJust arrived back yesterday from the Australian Outback Marathon and I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all at Travelling Fit for such a well organized and wonderful event. From the first enquiry through to the actual event it has been a pleasure to associate with all concerned. Apart from the actual marathon the highlight would have to be the Sounds of Silence Dinner Celebration Dinner - a beautiful night.Jackie Ginefra – VICJust wanted to drop you a line to say what an experience we had over the past 4 days. After 8 months of training my big day had arrived. Not knowing how these events run l was quite nervous leading up the run, but as soon as l hopped of the bus in the morning with the music blaring my body relaxed and before I knew it l was off running my first half marathon. I guess what l am trying to say is that this is one of the best experiences we have had in life and to share it with so many other people especially the kids in the photos we are so thankful for yourself and the whole Travelling Fit crew who made this experience for us pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity. This will be something we will never forget.Jarrod Dempster and Amy Shakespeare – VICJust a quick note of my appreciation for all your help and assistance with coordinating my booking for this year’s AOM. It was great to meet you finally and put a face to the name after months of emailing. I think you and the entire team at Travelling Fit did an awesome job in coordinating and keeping happy some 500 odd runners and supporters, which I know is no easy feat! I hope you got some downtime when you returned on Monday but I would have to say this was THE best organised event/tour I have ever done – all the thinking was made for me and it was fantastic. I look forward to doing another event with Travelling Fit in the near future.Jill Saker, NSWMy girlfriend and I recently completed the world famous Australian Outback Marathon. Although it has been a couple of weeks since the run, we just wanted to say congratulations and thank you once again for organising such a wonderful event! We both had an unforgettable time in the Northern Territory and can't wait for the next run. The organisation and service provided by Travelling Fit was world class. All of the Travelling Fit staff and representatives were friendly and approachable, providing a friendly smile at every opportunity. They are to be highly commended for putting on such a tremendous event! A special mention has to go to our travel consultant Lee. He provided us with all of the relevant information in the lead up to the event, and entertained us with some great stories during the 'Silence of Sound' Celebration dinner. The trip provided such a unique experience - one we were privileged to share with other runners from around the globe. They say marathoners are a 'special' breed and they are not wrong. We met so many inspiring people along the way....prompting us to re-challenge ourselves once again. A day after we got home we booked our next marathon in Adelaide in late August. We will continue to spread the word on what an amazing service Travelling Fit provided us along the way. All the best and thanks again.Ross Montague and Ally Trefoni – NSWI wanted to email and say thank-you for one of the best (in fact maybe it is the best) races I have ever run. It was an exceptional experience and the organisation by Travelling Fit was superb. You guys really did think of EVERYTHING and I have never run a race where so much was included from the meal the night before to a really good running t-shirt (usually I wear the t-shirt as pjs!) to all the food at the event and the wonderful support and camaraderie. It was a very special event and definitely a worthy bucket list adventure!Teri Lichtenstein – VICAs we return to ‘normal’ life today it would be remiss of me not to take some time to send a quick note regarding our experience over the last five days. I made the decision to sign up for Australian Outback Marathon last August and after some procrastination and in decision, I was lucky to have a friend decide to come along on the journey who was super organised and took hold of the booking process. While I had imagined it would be an amazing adventure nothing quite prepared me for what I would gain from the experience and a lot of this comes down to the amazing organisation of the event and your team on the ground. A particular thanks to our amazing hotel liaison! We were made to feel welcome from the outset at the airport and the delivery of the race packs at the hotel, especially since we were the only two to arrive at our hotel on that flight and were a day early! The accommodation was more than adequate, the meals were fantastic and even catered for a fussy eater, the extra activities were great and another opportunity to meet others. The race briefing and opening ceremony while serving an important purpose of the pre race preparation, created a general excitement among the group. The general friendliness and engagement with the other competitors encapsulated the whole experience. We certainly met some amazing people on the way including the locals. While everyone has their own motivation and reason for completing the race, I hope they all take from it as much as we did! Thanks again and who knows we may be back one day!Rebecca Purcell – NSW
Bagan Temple Marathon - Myanmar
Absolutely fantastic experience. So glad to have competed in this event, despite the 42 degree temp on the day. Burma was amazing and the Tour Guides who we dealt with were extremely informative, personable, fun and professional. We met some great people from around the world who we have continued to keep in touch with. I highly recommend this event, it was well organised, a true adventure marathon, great to experience Burma before it becomes another Thailand. For me the highlight of the trip also was the Balloon ride over the Bagan Temples, as well as finishing the race!!!Denise Coult, NSWThe Bagan Temple Marathon trip was fantastic. I had one of the best holidays that I can recall. I was very pleasantly surprised by how well organised the whole trip was (given that it's the first time) and also at how luxurious the hotels / resorts were. I would strongly recommend the trip to anyone considering it.The marathon was great, but challenging because of the heat. The Bagan Temple area is fascinating, and running through it was great. The second half of the marathon became a matter of survival, however, as it got incredibly hot. Pretty slow times, but who cares. The experience was great.Peter Finch, New Zealand
Berlin Marathon - Germany
The team from Travelling Fit are some of the most knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic people I have come across. From my inaugural marathon (NY2018) they made me feel a part of the Travelling Fit family. They made the entire journey including all the running around seamless. I just had to turn up and run (and maybe train a little more ). Highly recommend them to anyone thinking of doing their first, or any, marathon.Antony Karp, NSWFrom meeting other runners to sightseeing in the rain, from drinks and pasta to directions on how to get everywhere, from crazy kangaroo antics to Shaylee and her weird notes from strangers, from hugs and photos to Tina on the microphone - it was a wonderful four days. Lots of laughs, running stories and friendships made. Thanks so much Travelling Fit for your organization, emails and support not just in Berlin, but for the last year !!! We can’t wait to do it all again.Sandra Davis, Supporter and Abi Hurdley, RunnerThe hotel used for the Berlin Marathon was fantastic with nice big rooms and great location. A winner! Also, the city tour in Berlin was brilliant! Travelling Fit puts a lot of thought and effort into giving their runners a wonderful experience. Well done!Peter Stelmach, QLDI just wanted to pass on a huge thanks for the wonderful runs I’ve just returned from! Medoc and Berlin were a blast, incredibly well organised and fun from end to end (except for a bit in the middle there, but it was a very long way!)
I truly appreciated Lee’s gorgeous warm and professional nature, our groups were diverse and numerous but we were corralled with a smile and on time, on task and enjoying every minute. I don’t know how he did it! I was gobsmacked at Lee’s ability to go nonstop over very long, very packed days, swanning between the travellers adding to our experience, sorting out details, going the extra mile to point out directions, taking solo bods like me under his wing so we were never without a social option – to me it turns a run into an experience, and one that I’m happy to pay for and that will keep me returning to Travelling Fit.
Special mention goes to the equally amazing Ally who added to the whole experience with her own warmth, she was so lovely and friendly and happy to step in to help us all along – they were a slick double act! And not to be left off the list of thanks, the fabulous Tina behind the scenes who is like a virtual running fairy godmother, ironing out details and dealing with more t-shirt questions than a sane person should have to. Safe to say I am utterly beaming, and couldn’t be happier with my experience.
Runs #4 and #5 with Travelling Fit are now ticked off, I can only hope Antarctica next year goes just as well! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for me beyond that!
My sincere thanks once again; Lee, Ally, Tina, Mari-Mar and the entire Travelling Fit Team, you are truly brilliant at what you do, please keep doing it!Kathryn Levey, WATravelling Fit have helped given us the opportunity to travel to so many places not only for 'a run' but all the before and after event adventures. Even better, our daughter has started to get the marathon bug so who knows where that will take her. (Chile in 2020?) So many of our friends just sit at home and watch sport or a holiday is travelling to Queensland every couple of years (not that there is anything wrong with QLD) but because of you Teresa and I are out there travelling the world. After Berlin, Teresa will be only two marathons away from her six point star which is pretty good as she only started running as part of her stroke therapy 11 months before Chicago 2016 and the Travelling Fit family (staff and all the runners) have played a huge part in getting her there. Cheers and thanks again for your fantastic support and patience.Scott Thompson, VICI was recommended Travelling Fit by some friends who did the Berlin Marathon the previous year. They were absolutely right. The tour guides on site were exceptional; friendly helpful and encouraging , especially for a first time marathoner. The Movenpick hotel was perfectly placed to access restaurants, Mall of Berlin and the U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations. The other team members were typical of runners; friendly and happy to share in the successes of others. I was a little sad to see the experience end and I would definitely recommend Travelling Fit for any person who wants a stress-free marathon experience.Kim Fraser-Rybinski, SAWe have just completed the Berlin Marathon with Travelling Fit. What a wonderful experience! The Movenpick Hotel was a great choice in hotel as the room was comfortable, spacious, quiet, well-equipped and ideal in location to the shops, race start and expo. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and the breakfast variety was perfect. We were impressed with the Traveling Fit organization of the excellent pasta dinner, the after-race party, the superb drive around the city with excellent guides talking about the sights and the Aussie runners that we met were a fun group. Also we have to say we really liked the design and quality of your Travelling Fit t-shirt for the Berlin Marathon as better than the finisher's shirt!
Nigel & Judy Reading, Vancouver CanadaJust wanted to say a big thank you for everything u do and did to ensure comfort and good prep for the marathon! I didn't get to spend much time with you and the crew throughout the experience but I never felt uncomfortable. You are very professional and I was so happy to be there helping represent Travelling Fit!! The marathon itself was another great experience!! You will be definitely hearing from me in the near future!! Thanks again.Sarah Wiese, SAI rarely use travel companies as I am quite happy to sort out the travel details myself. However, the smooth operation of Traveling Fit has had me back twice, and more trips planned. So, focusing on event travel is your speciality. Stick to it.Stephen Jackson, NSW
