A thrilling course will start near the Grand Army Plaza entrance to Prospect Park, heading toward Central Park and finishes at West 75th Street!
Runners will start on Flatbush Avenue, cross the East River from Brooklyn into Manhattan via the Manhattan Bridge. A turn onto Canal Street, and follow to East Broadway.
The course takes a slight right from East Broadway onto Grand Street, and then a left onto Columbia Street. Columbia Street to East Houston Street then turns right, following the exit ramp left onto the FDR Drive.
A right turn will have you continuing north on Seventh Avenue where the course enters Central Park and make a complete counter-clockwise loop of the park, around the Reservoir, to the finish line at West 75th Street.

Your entry fee for the New York City Half Marathon is included in the cost of your package.
There is no qualifying time required.
There are three expected start times for the New York City Half Marathon
- Wave 1 – 7:30am
- Wave 2 – 7:45am
- Wave 3 – 8:10am
Please note that in the interest of safety, any NYC Half-Marathon participant who is not able to maintain a 13:45-per-mile pace throughout the race (3:00 projected finishing time) will be picked up along the course starting at approximately mile 8 and transported to the finish.
The time it takes the last runner (who was at the start line at the start) to cross the start line will be added to the overall 3:00 time limit, ensuring all participants a 13:45-per-mile pace.
This race is timed using the ChronoTrack D-Tag timing system.
Entrants are required to pick up their race packets in advance at the NYC Half-Marathon Expo. Runners must bring a copy of their race confirmation and photo ID.

The NYRR Pace Team, wearing their signature white and blue striped singlets, will run even splits through all 13.1 miles of the United Airlines NYC Half.
NYRR Pace Team members will lead runners to finish times at every five-minute interval from 1:20 to 2:15, and will also offer a 2:30 pace group.

Personal Refreshments and Clothing
Please consider not bringing a bag to the race. If you choose to check a bag, it must be the clear plastic bag you receive at the United Airlines NYC Half Experience, with the sticker affixed. No other bag will be accepted at bag check.
Bag check trucks will be along Central Park South/59th Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue in numerical order. Check your bag by handing it to an NYRR staff member at a designated bag-check zone, organized by bib range.
Please allow enough time–at least 30-40 minutes–to drop off your bag and get to your corral before it closes for your wave start. Your bag will be transported to the finish.

All runners must visit the expo to pick up their race number (which includes your B-tag), technical shirt, and goody bag. Runners will not be able to pick up their materials without showing photo ID, and only the runner may pick up his or her race number. Absolutely no race numbers will be available on race morning.
The expo is free and open to the public, and it features NYRR NYC Half merchandise and more than 100 vendors and exhibitors of the best in running souvenirs, product samples, race applications, health and medical advice, running-related activities, and more.

The finishers certificate will be available free of charge in both digital and print versions.

The weather was freezing and had snow either side of the race, but was quite amazing running through Central Park covered in snow! The Empire was really great too…..good facilities and perfect location only a few hundred meters from the starting line, so would definitely recommend it. Recently I have been in contact with one staff member from Travelling Fit – and I would like to let you know what a great experience it was in dealing with them. Prior to deciding to go with Travelling Fit to organise my tour outside the Package for the NYC half I had scoped 2 other Travel Agents – it was like chalk and cheese really when you compared – Travelling Fit out shone them all for professionalism, determination to get the tour organised, top shelf communication skills (timely , precise and with some laughter thrown in ) and all round general helpfulness. Actually Travelling Fit came across via emails and telephone as though they genuinely cared about putting together a package that delivered what my wife and I wanted and they have done just that – trust grew that they were doing the right thing for us and looking out for good deals that fitted around our tour parameters. Thank you for organising this event and I will cherish this day – Central Park, 7th Ave, Times Square magic reception and finally Wall Street. I hope for a repeat!

The course was incredible in so many ways, but running in 1 degree with so much gear was the hard bit for me!
