The Patagonian International Marathon is a road running event that takes place in Chilean Patagonia, Province of Última Esperanza (Last Hope), in the surroundings of Torres del Paine National Park. Since 2012, the event has brought together thousands of runners from more than 50 countries, converging to the southern tip of the Patagonia to fulfil the dream of running in one of the most pristine places on the planet!
The Patagonian International Marathon has the classic race distances of 42K, 21K, and 10K.
The Marathon distance will start in the vehicle road Y-200, in the Bahía del Bote crossing, which will then move West from this point in order to take Y-290 to the North.
The course route is located on vehicle roads, mixed between asphalt and gravel zones. The roads are very twisty, with curves and permanent changing slopes.
The Finish Line for all distances will be located in Villa Serrano, located near the Southern entryway to Torres del Paine National Park (Portería Serrano). As you cross the finish line you will have a spectacular panoramic view of the Torres del Paine National Park as the backdrop
The race route will be located to the South of the majestic Torres del Paine National Park. The magic of running in Patagonia, together with runners from around the world and the adventure of confronting a restless, and sometimes even hostile, climate will continue being the essence of the event.
Geographically, the event is developed in the American continent’s extreme south, at 51° south latitude, in a prime location of Western Patagonia, to the East of the Great Southern Ice Field and South of Torres del Paine National Park. The closest city to the event’s race zone is Puerto Natales, located 250 km to the North of Punta Arenas, which is the region’s capital.
Whether you are an elite runner or just an enthusiast, you will be welcome here! We invite you to live a different experience. Come feel the energy of nature!!
