The Petra Desert Marathon is a unique event in a most unique setting . It is just as much an experience as an event and, like me, it seemed that many participants were immersed in the remarkable history and the spectacular landscape of Petra for much of their race journey.
It was a very tough run, but the awesome distractions made it so enjoyable. Jordan has so much history to discover, and the genial tour guide was always keen to help us understand his country’s significant and fascinating past.
