The TCS Sydney Marathon was announced as the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major on Monday, 4th November 2024, and the 2025 event was not only the largest ever held in Australia, but also the centrepiece of an entire running festival.
Featuring participants from more than 100 countries, makes the event weekend the largest of its kind in Australia. The festival comprises four distinct events, namely the TCS Sydney Marathon, TCS Sydney Marathon 10km, TCS Sydney Mini Marathon and the TCS Sydney Marathon Elite Wheelchair race.
Completing the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS will earn you a star, just like any other of the other Abbott World Marathon Majors.
Our 5 day/4 night package includes a guided run through the world-famous Royal Botanic Gardens (Friday) and we will also be personally escorting you to the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show.

The Course
Join 37,500 other marathoners and in the latest addition to the Abbott World Marathon Majors marathon series.
The start will be from Miller Street, next to North Sydney Oval, echoing the historic start line of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Marathon.
Immerse yourself in one of the world’s most scenic marathon courses, taking in some of Sydney’s most spectacular and historic landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the world-famous Sydney Opera House.
The course changes that have been implemented over recent years are designed to deliver a world-class course that meets the standards expected by both the community and participants.

All entry fees are included in the cost of your TCS Sydney Marathon package.
Qualifying Times
There are no qualifying times for this event, however you MUST be at least 18 years old on race day to be eligible to compete.
Start Time
Between 6:30am and 8:15am, depending on your starting wave

Official cut-off time – 7 hours (or 3:15pm)
Participants must maintain 10 minutes per kilometre or better throughout the course.

Aid Stations
Powerade (Mountain Blast flavour) will be located at the 5km, 10km, 15km, 20km, 25km, 30km, 35km and 40km drink stations along the course. Powerade will also be at the Finish Line recovery area.
GU Gels are available at the 20km and 30km drink stations along the course. The number of GU Gels out on course are limited and not guaranteed. If you require gels as part of your nutrition plan, we strongly recommend you carry your own supply.
Water will be available at all drink stations along the course.
A designated marathon-only refreshment station will be located after the finish line at the Marathon Recovery Zone.
There are portable toilets at each drink station.

All finishers who complete the race inside the cut-off time will receive a finishers medal and finishers shirt.
