Travelling Fit staff will be present at this event and we will be at/near the finish line for all runners and supporters to gather around and meet prior and after each event.

The Disney World® Marathon Course
The Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend is a spectacular race with your host Mickey Mouse! Every step is magic on this 42.2km run through Walt Disney World® Resort with plenty of surprises, entertainment and Disney magic along the way.
The full marathon extends the experience, covering all four Walt Disney World® theme parks: EPCOT®, Magic Kingdom®, Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom® before an exhilarating finish back at Epcot®.
The course is known for being fairly flat, making it approachable yet still a challenge given the distance.
Highlights of the marathon include running through Cinderella Castle, the excitement of Main Street, USA, and the opportunity to ride Expedition Everest during the race.
It’s a full day of Disney magic spread over 42.2km, offering unique moments like running through Blizzard Beach and enjoying various Disney characters and entertainment.

Entry Fees
Qualifying Times
There are no qualifying times for the Walt Disney World® Marathon
You are strongly encouraged to have proof of time when you are registering for your event so that you receive a better corral placement.
Start Time
Saturday 5th January- 5:00 am
Cut-Off Times
All athletes entering the Walt Disney World® Marathon must maintain a 16-minute per mile pace throughout the race.
Anyone not able to maintain the respective paces may be picked up and transported to the finish.
You may be picked up at any point along the course and transported for not maintaining pace.
It is suggested that you train at a 15-minute per mile pace.
If you stick to the 16-minute per mile pace your finish time for the Marathon would be 6:59:00
Race Timing
All Walt Disney World ® Marathon Weekend events will be timed
Race Packets
Race bib collection must be collected from the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo. Refer to Expo paragraph below for details.
You will be required to take your confirmation of entry document and your passport/ID card.
Pace Setters
Pace Cyclists will be in the course indicating when runners are behind pace by waving light wands or flags at each mile markers according to the official pace time.
If you reach a mile marker with a light wand or flag waving, please note you are behind the required 16-minute per mile pace and can be picked up at any time and transported to the course pick up tent.
If you stick to the 16-minute per mile pace your finish time for the Marathon would be 6:59:00
Aid Stations
There will be five Food Stops on the course located at:
- Mile 11.2 (approx. 18km) – Sport Beans® Energizing Jelly Beans®
- Mile 17.2 (approx. 27.5km) – bananas
- Mile 18.9 (approx. 30km) – Sport Beans® Energizing Jelly Beans®
- Mile 21.4 (approx. 34km) – bananas
- Mile 23.1 (approx. 37km) – chocolate
Personal Refreshments and Clothing
You will receive a clear plastic bag at Race Bib Pick-Up, please use this bag for the bag check service.
Once you finish, your race number will be used to verify your bag when you pick it up.
Unclaimed bags will be transferred to Epcot® Guest Relations, located to the right of the main park entrance.
Articles of clothing that are found on the course will be donated to charity.

Walt Disney World ® Weekend Transportation is provided to and from all Walt Disney World ® Resorts (i.e. theme parks, water parks, sports facilities, and shopping, dining and entertainment areas) .

Expo
runDisney Health & Fitness Expo is located at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
All runners are required to attend the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo for race number and Packet Pick-Up. Transport is provided from all Walt Disney World Resorts.
You will need to download your personalised race number pick-up card/waiver form online and bring it with you to Packet Pick-Up at the Expo when it becomes available online before the event.

Weather Conditions
Orlando weather in January has an average high temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and an average low temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. However in recent years the weather has dropped way below 10 degrees Celcius.
The race will be held rain or shine. If there is lightning in the area, the race will either have a delayed start or, depending on the intensity of the weather, be cancelled. The determination will be made by the Event Management staff.
As a reminder, the registration fees are non-refundable.
